The Peer-Reviewed Journal is the flagship publication of the Oxford Review of Latin American Studies. It features original research articles that make a substantive contribution to scholarship on Latin America and the Caribbean across the humanities and social sciences. We welcome interdisciplinary work engaging with the region’s politics, history, economics, international relations, sociology, anthropology, cultural studies, and related fields. The journal is committed to publishing rigorous, innovative research that advances academic debate and deepens understanding of the region.
All submissions undergo a structured double-blind peer review process to ensure the highest scholarly standards. After an initial editorial screening for fit and compliance with submission guidelines, manuscripts are evaluated by reviewers with relevant subject expertise. Articles are assessed on originality, methodological rigor, clarity of argument, engagement with existing literature, and overall contribution to the field. Authors may be invited to revise and resubmit their work in light of reviewer feedback before a final decision is made.
The Peer-Reviewed Journal aims not only to maintain academic excellence but also to support emerging scholars in developing and refining their research. Through a transparent and constructive review process, we seek to cultivate thoughtful scholarship and intellectual exchange within Latin American and Caribbean studies.
